Double Negatives - Authors Notes and Thanks

General Notes and Comments:

This story was inspired by Challenge # 2 issued at Bennie and Reese's website Common Ground. Hopefully we can do it justice.

Thank you for Stacie, our beta, who took the time to listen to us whine about everything from continuity to the actual writers of the show, as well as put up with us rushing her to beta faster so we could post.

Also special thanks to Jen (Bordersinsanity) who created the beautiful banner that heads our story.  She truly is an artist.

Chapter Two:  “Reality”

We used one line of dialogue directly from Independence Day. No infringement is intended and we do not claim that the line is our creation.

Chapter Three:  “Playing the Odds…”

One line from “The End of the World” was commandeered for this chapter. Also we do not own rights to the following movies, TV commercials/products, etc: The Usual Suspects, Flatliners, Back to the Future, King Henry V, Ortho Evra, McDonalds, Nyquil, Lincoln Mercury, the Emergency Broadcast System, Gone with the Wind, Quantum Leap, or anything else we might have forgotten to add but slipped in as a clip. They are the works of the various writers, CEOs, advertising agencies and directors who (living or dead) have offered their work up to public consumption. Their intended use is not for profit or key plot points, but simply as background to the build of a scene. Sadly Ferris Bueller was unable to make the cut, but in honor of that movie, we would just like to quote these famous words, “Bueller…Bueller…”

Additionally, if you were curious -the Bellagio Hotel does have an Under 18 Policy.

Chapter Four:  “Between the Heartbreak Hotel and Jailhouse Rock…”

Lines in the jail scene and Michael's introduction of Maria were taken straight from the Viva Las Vegas episode. We felt that they were necessary to show that cannon for the most part was still intact (as it is in the future), and besides it was the best part of that entire episode…

The title of this chapter was inspired by Elvis yet again - Heartbreak Hotel and Jailhouse Rock, respectively.

Chapter Five:  “Only in dreams…”

Julio Romero de Torres was a Spanish portrait painter known for his paintings of the female form. The painting that inspired Michael’s comment is “Viva el Pelo,” and can be found at this link http://www.tfd.chalmers.se/~sd/art.html#1.

Chapter Six:  “By Plane, Van and Motorcycle…”

No notes at this time

Chapter Seven:  “All for One…”

The song Alex sings is Rufus Wainwright’s “Instant Pleasure.” One line from Drowning Pool’s “Bodies” was also used in this chapter.

Chapter Eight:  "To Investigate and Experiment"
